Canela Suede Green Leather Embroidered Loafers

Description
The Canela is a flat venetian loafer in deep forest green suede, carrying a tropical embroidery that runs across the vamp and down the side: elongated banana leaves in lime and olive green, and a stylised flower in rust and burgundy with pale pink and cream rays. No strap, no buckle, nothing to interrupt it. The embroidery is the whole shoe.
Every leaf is filled stitch by stitch in glossy thread, laid so densely that it sits slightly proud of the surface. That relief against the matte nap of the suede is what you notice up close, and it is why a plain slipper shape can carry this much pattern without looking busy. Leather lining, leather sole, and a stacked heel of about 1cm.
How to wear it
- With everything else plain: cream, ivory, chocolate. The shoe is the only pattern you need.
- With cropped tailored trousers that stop above the ankle, so the whole embroidery shows.
- Under a long linen or wool skirt, where the green reads as a neutral.
Size & fit — please read before ordering
Made on the same French last, cut slim and precise. If your feet are slim to average, order your usual size. If they are wider, we would suggest sizing up.
The topline is cut low and open, so there is no strap pressing across the instep, but suede has very little give across the widest part of the foot and the leather sole does not flex like rubber. If you are between sizes, take the larger. Not sure which size to take? Write to info@mangara.be before you order and we will help you choose.
Materials and care
- Upper: genuine suede, Leather Working Group certified tannery
- Lining and insole: leather
- Sole: leather, 1cm stacked heel
- Detail: hand guided tropical embroidery in coloured thread
Brush suede with a soft suede brush, always in one direction, and never use water on it. Protect with a suede spray before the first wear. Keep the embroidery away from anything that could catch a thread, and store the pair in the dust bag.

Patricia Cossettin Created Mangará to Redefine Luxury Footwear—Made Accessible for All
Great shoes should feel effortless. Because every Mangará pair is handmade in Brazil on a French last, our shoes have a particular, consistent fit — and once you know it, choosing your size is easy. Here's everything you need to get it right the first time.
How our shoes run: the French last
Our shoes are shaped on a French last, which gives an elegant, slightly slim fit through the foot. If your feet are narrow to average, take your usual EU size. If your feet are on the wider side, read the wide-feet notes below before choosing.
Find your size (EU size chart)
The most reliable way to size is by foot length, not by the size you usually buy — brands vary.
How to measure:
- Stand on a sheet of paper with your heel against a wall (measure at the end of the day, when feet are slightly larger).
- Mark the tip of your longest toe.
- Measure heel-to-toe in centimetres. Measure both feet and use the larger.
- Match your longest measurement to the chart below.
| EU size | Foot length (cm) |
|---|---|
| 36 | 23.0 |
| 37 | 23.7 |
| 38 | 24.3 |
| 39 | 25.0 |
| 40 | 25.7 |
| 41 | 26.3 |
| 42 | 27.0 |
These are guide measurements. If you're between sizes, size up or contact us — we're happy to help you choose. We also offer half sizes (36.5–41.5) on many styles.
Wide feet? Narrow feet? Here's what to choose
- Wider feet: because of the slim French last, consider sizing up by half a size, and favour adjustable styles — ankle straps, buckles and toe-ring slides give the most room. Open styles (slides, mules, strappy sandals) suit wider feet better than closed courts.
- Narrow feet: take your true size; adjustable straps let you tighten for a secure fit.
- In-between: size up to the nearest half size — leather gives a little as it softens, but never shrinks.
Leather that moulds to you
Our calf leather is supple from the first wear and continues to soften, gently shaping to your foot over the first few outings. A snug (never tight) fit at the start is normal — it's the leather getting to know you.

Fit FAQ
Do Mangará shoes run true to size?
They run slightly slim because they're made on a French last. Narrow-to-average feet: take your usual EU size. Wider feet: size up half a size and choose adjustable styles.
Are these shoes good for wide feet?
Yes, with the right choice. Pick adjustable, open styles (ankle straps, buckles, slides, toe-ring sandals) and consider a half size up. Closed courts are the slimmest fit.
Should I size up or down?
When in doubt, size up to the nearest half size. Leather softens and gives slightly with wear; it won't shrink to fit.
Are the heels comfortable to walk in?
Most of our heels are stable block heels (roughly 4–9 cm) designed for real, all-day wear rather than standing still.
Can I return them if the fit is wrong?
Absolutely — free 30-day returns across Europe.
