Description
The Cacau is a flat slide reduced to three straps and nothing else, which is exactly why the way those straps are made decides whether it looks cheap or expensive. Each one is rolled into a fine tube, round in section rather than cut flat from a sheet, so there is no edge to press into the top of the foot. They are set into the sole from the side and finished without a visible stitch, which is the part that takes time and the part you feel.
Underneath, a natural tan leather footbed and a thin leather sole. The contrast between that warm tan and the fuchsia pink of the straps is the whole design: one clean colour against undyed leather, nothing else added.
How to wear it
- With ivory or cream linen, so the pink is the only colour in the outfit.
- With white, which keeps a strong fuchsia looking deliberate.
- With denim and a fine knit, when the sandal is doing the work.
Size & fit: please read before ordering
This style runs notably small. Order one size up, even if you normally take your usual size in our other models.
This is the one model in the collection where we say it flatly rather than as a caveat. The slide has no ankle strap and no buckle, so nothing compensates for a size that is too short, and the foot needs to sit fully on the footbed. If you are between sizes, take the larger. If you are unsure at all, write to info@mangara.be before you order. It is faster than a return.

Wipe with a barely damp cloth and let the sandal dry naturally, away from any heat source. The natural footbed darkens slightly with wear, which is normal and even.

How our shoes run: the French last
Our shoes are shaped on a French last, which gives an elegant, slightly slim fit through the foot. If your feet are narrow to average, take your usual EU size. If your feet are on the wider side, read the wide-feet notes below before choosing.
Find your size (EU size chart)
The most reliable way to size is by foot length, not by the size you usually buy — brands vary.
How to measure:
- Stand on a sheet of paper with your heel against a wall (measure at the end of the day, when feet are slightly larger).
- Mark the tip of your longest toe.
- Measure heel-to-toe in centimetres. Measure both feet and use the larger.
- Match your longest measurement to the chart below.

Wide feet? Narrow feet? Here's what to choose
- Wider feet: because of the slim French last, consider sizing up by half a size, and favour adjustable styles — ankle straps, buckles and toe-ring slides give the most room. Open styles (slides, mules, strappy sandals) suit wider feet better than closed courts.
- Narrow feet: take your true size; adjustable straps let you tighten for a secure fit.
- In-between: size up to the nearest half size — leather gives a little as it softens, but never shrinks.
Leather that moulds to you
Our calf leather is supple from the first wear and continues to soften, gently shaping to your foot over the first few outings. A snug (never tight) fit at the start is normal — it's the leather getting to know you.

Should I size up or down?

Are the heels comfortable to walk in?
Most of our heels are stable block heels (roughly 4–9 cm) designed for real, all-day wear rather than standing still.
